Phenomenal Women

 Our society comprises of men and women. In earlier times, men were considered to be the leading members of a family. They were responsible for earning the livelihood and were the decision takers of the family. People during those times believed that men are more superior to women that they are stronger and capable. It’s very disheartening that women doesn’t have the same treatment of people as with the men. Throughout the years, the people are fighting for a gender-equality society. Every one of us has their own rights and privileges that are indicated in the National Constitution. We should respect everyone regardless of their gender, age or social status in the community but there are still people who are discriminating other persons especially when it comes to their gender. 

 On the other hand, women during the Spanish Colonization were responsible for doing household work and taking good care of the children. They deemed that women must only stay at home because they believed that they can’t do the complicated and hard tasks of men. Women doesn’t have also the right to be educated because men are the one who are being sent to schools for their studies. When it comes to leadership, girls doesn’t have also the right to vote and to be voted because being a leader requires full responsibility. They find girls as more physically and emotionally weak because boys can control their emotions and can do some hard or stressful tasks that requires strength and power. In the workforce, women also receive a lesser wage compared to men and that’s really unfair to the girls because they are rendering the same time and effort in doing their work. They also believed that boys are stronger and braver compared to girls because they know that they have weaker emotions. So the rules were mainly based on gender. There was also no involvement of women when it comes to decision making. But as time passes by, women for today has already stepped up their roles and responsibilities. That’s why the government planned things that would eradicated this type of perspective when it comes to women. They have given these women a platform to voice out and show their capabilities and to prove that women can also do the job of men.They are not just only housewives but they’re already successful in their chosen careers such as being a doctor, teacher, businesswoman, firefighter, police and even soldier. The world is celebrating the National Women’s Month during the month of March to celebrate and highlights women’s achievements and discuss continuing and emerging women’s empowerment, gender equality issues and concerns, challenges and commitments. And it is also celebrated to recognize working women around the world. They conduct some activities to showcase the talents and skills of women in order to break the stereotypes that girls are experiencing. 

 We should break the stigma between men and women and instead of criticizing and judging the capabilities of women, we should make opportunities and platforms in order for them to showcase their talents and abilities. Let’s celebrate women empowerment and together we can aim a gender-equality society. Women plays a vital role in the society. They are our mothers and sisters whom we should look up to because they have sacrificed a lot for us. We should treasure and cherish their efforts and pay it back by simply loving and respecting them. Together we celebrate women empowerment and a gender-equality society.
