 This year Lent 2021 is the six week period leading up to Easter, Lent is typically observed in a total of 40 days by various denominations of Christianity such as Roman Catholic. The Lent word comes from the longer old English word “Lencten” which means spring. Although the period of Lent begins in the winter on “Ash Wednesday”. Ash Wednesday is a day of reflection and repentance from sin. In celebrating this lent season this is filled with hope, faith and focusing more on God.  In celebrating Lent this year is different from the common ways before. We participated the celebration through television because of this Pandemic that is spreading all over the world for the safety of my family.    Throughout, the people are fighting for a gender-equality society. Every one of us has their own rights and privileges that are indicated in the National Constitution. We should respect everyone regardless of their gender, age or social status in the community but there are still people who are discriminating other persons especially when it comes to their gender.   During the ancient times, girls or women are deemed to be as housewives and mothers to their children only. On the other side men are known as more superior and stronger than the women. They are the one who provides and supports the life of their family. Girls doesn’t have also the right to vote and to be voted because they think that being a leader is not for them. They find girls as more physically and emotionally weak because boys can control their emotions and can do some hard or stressful tasks that requires strength and power.
